My practice is in the genre of landscape painting, in particular the representation of one place in terms of its significance, my memory and my connection to it. I tend to work on a large panoramic scale, oil on canvas, with additional layers added with mediums and the sand itself from the beach. The effects are accidental when the paint is removed in sections and rubbed pale as if a faded photograph. My work is between photo realistic and abstract.
